Juvenal Chávez, of Santa Ana, California, passed away on March 3, 2023, at the age of 63 following a valiant battle with cancer. Juvenal, fondly known as Juve, was born to Manuel Chávez and Maria Concepción Herrera on October 16, 1959 in Cuauhtémoc (San Pedro), Zacatecas, Mexico. In 1973, Juvenal’s family immigrated to Santa Ana, California, where Juvenal attended Saddleback High School. He was an avid fan of Mopar vehicles, exotic cowboy boots, fine tequilas, pachuco-style hats, and bicycle rides along the Santa Ana River Trail. Juvenal had an unparalleled sense of humor, always joking with and playing pranks on his loved ones and co-workers. Juvenal was also the life of the party: He was the enthusiastic DJ, the best dancer, and most sociable person in the room at every social event. He had the great ability to make other people smile.

Juvenal was a family-oriented man. He loved taking his children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren to the park for picnics and bicycle rides. Juvenal would constantly bring home toys for his children and grandchildren. More than anything, he adored traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with his wife and love of his life, Margarita.

By the year 2000, Juvenal became an industrial paint supervisor for JB3D, an architectural design firm in Orange. He greatly enjoyed working with paint and completing projects with his colleagues. He took pride in pointing out signs, statues, and other public projects he worked on throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Juvenal liked to help others, and that included finding work for friends and family. As the family handyman, he was eager to assist when other people had car problems or needed home repairs.

During his free time, Juvenal spent countless hours raising funds for the non-profit organizations Club San Pedro and Club Familias Unidas del Condado de Orange, which directly benefited his hometown in Mexico. More recently, Juvenal’s family founded the Familia Chávez Ortega Scholarship benefiting members of Mariachi Los Santos of Santa Ana High School.

Juvenal is survived by Margarita, his wife of 40 years; his three children Margarita, Jessica, and Juvenal Jr.; as well as son-in-law Manuel and grandchildren Mariana and Rafael. He is also survived by his four siblings: Salvador, Elena, Hector, and Chela; and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who adored him.

The impact he left on his community was like no other and he will be dearly missed by everyone he knew.

Juvenal siempre tuvo un buen sentido del humor, le gustaba bromear con su familia y compañeros de trabajo. Juvenal siempre fue el centro de atención en las fiestas: fue el DJ, mejor bailador, y una persona muy sociable. Tenía la habilidad de hacer que las personas sonrieran.

Juvenal fue un hombre juguetón que amaba a su familia. Le encantaba llevar a sus hijos, sobrinos y nietos al parque a hacer picnics y pasear en bicicleta. Le gustaba regalar juguetes a sus hijos y nietos. Adoraba viajar, asistir a conciertos y pasar tiempo con su esposa, el amor de su vida, Margarita.

En el 2000, Juvenal empezó su trabajo como supervisor de pinturas para la compañía JB3D en Orange, California. Le encantaba dar lo mejor de él en su trabajo y completar proyectos con sus colegas. Tenía mucho orgullo cuando veía anuncios, estatuas y otros proyectos que realizaron en el condado de Orange y Los Ángeles. A Juvenal le gustaba ayudar a otras personas y eso incluía encontrar trabajo a su familia y amistades. También ayudó a muchas personas cuando necesitaban ayudaba en arreglar sus carros y necesidades de otros en sus casas.

Durante su tiempo libre, Juvenal dedicó muchas horas recaudando fondos para las organizaciones no lucrativas como Club San Pedro y Club Familias Unidas del Condado de Orange que beneficia a su pueblo natal. Recientemente su familia estableció la beca Familia Chavez Ortega beneficiando a integrantes del Mariachi Los Santos de la preparatoria Santa Ana High School.

Deja a su esposa, Margarita, y tres hijos, Margarita, Jessica y Juvenal Jr. También deja a su yerno, Manuel, nietos Mariana y Rafael, sus hermanos Salvador, Elena, Hector y Chela al igual que docenas de sobrinos, sobrinas, familia extendida y amistades que los apreciaban.

Dejó un impacto grande en su comunidad y en su pueblo natal. Va a ser extrañado por todos los que lo conocieron.
