William C. Wilson, Jr.

<p>William C. Wilson Jr of Redding, Connecticut , passed away March 13 , 2023 at his home at the age of 78</p><p>William, also known as ‘Billy’ was born February 7, 1945 in Bronx, New York to the late William and Gertrude (Probst) Wilson. After attending St.Helens highschool he graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In 1968 he married the love of his life Patricia Connelly at the Queens of Angels Church in Sunnyside Queens New York. After summering for many years as a child at Vails Grove William took residency in North Salem for fifty years before moving to Redding, Connecticut. He was a New York City Detective for twenty two years before retiring in 1987. After retiring he worked for US Customs Border Patrol at John F. Kennedy Airport for 18 years retiring as Assistant Chief.<br></p><p>He enjoyed sudoku, crossword puzzles, his vintage corvette, and scuba diving. ‘Billy’ had a gadget for everything and a love for traveling and visiting each continent that he could. In his free time he volunteered as a ride connect providing rides for seniors and the disabled, even running a marathon at the age of fifty.<br></p><p>William is survived by his wife, Patricia (Connelly) Wilson of Redding, CT; his sisters Donna Keith of Gaithersburg, MD, and Lynn Collins of Stratford, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews.<br></p><p>William was predeceased by his sister’s Cecelia Wilson and Theresa Ensign.<br></p><p>Memorial hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday March 17, 2023 at Beecher Funeral Home at 1 Putnam Avenue Brewster, New York. Interment Private.<br></p><p>In Lieu of flowers please consider donating to RVNA Health Hospice at 27 Governors Street, Ridgefield, CT.<br></p>
