<p>With heavy hearts we share the passing of Rosalie Elizabeth Carpentier, 85, who died after bravely fighting cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family in the early morning on Wednesday March 15th.</p><p><br></p><p>Rosalie was born on February 15th, 1938 to Helen King Glasgow and Samuel Arthur Glasgow in Decatur, Illinois. She was the oldest of the three girls that Helen raised in New Berlin, Illinois. Both of Rosalie’s beloved sisters, Janet Brehm and Ruth Ann Bilyeu preceded her in death in 2022.</p><p><br></p><p>Rosalie attended grade school and high school in New Berlin Illinois and went on to receive her degree in nursing from MacMurray College in Jacksonville Illinois. While there, she met A.L. Carpentier and they married in 1959. She and A.L. raised three children, Gregory Lee (Brad Minnis), Bradley Lee (Janice Anderson) and Michelle Ruth Carpentier-Lazarz (Jeffrey Lazarz). Rosalie and A.L. lovingly raised their family in Lockport, IL. and after the passing of her beloved husband in 2000, Rosalie moved to Lake Petersburg, IL.</p><p><br></p><p>Rosalie was also proceeded in death by her mother, Helen King Glasgow, Helen’s husband Albert Wilcox, and her brothers-in-law Terry Bilyeu and Paul Brehm. Surviving along with Rosalie’s three children include her wonderful grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Lucas, Matthew and Marissa. Rosalie is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews; Bryce Bilyeu (Melinda), Ryan Bilyeu (Sarah Conlon), Bethany Bilyeu, Kevin Brehm and Allen Brehm (Beth).</p><p><br></p><p>Rosalie is also survived by many loved ones including half siblings, James Glasgow, Maureen Lambert, Mary Jo Busch, as well as great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a multitude of lifelong loving friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Rosalie was an avid reader and book club enthusiast. She loved traveling, adored having coffee and luncheons with her friends, and was never happier than when she was doing any activity with her family. Her clever wit, compassionate soul and sweet demeanor will be forever missed.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Butler Funeral home in Springfield, Illinois. A private family burial will be held in New Berlin, Illinois. A celebration of life will be held in in Lockport, Illinois at a future date. With heavy hearts we share the passing of Rosalie Elizabeth Carpentier, 85, who died after bravely fighting cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family in the early morning on Wednesday March 15th.


Rosalie was born on February 15th, 1938 to Helen King Glasgow and Samuel Arthur Glasgow in Decatur, Illinois. She was the oldest of the three girls that Helen raised in New Berlin, Illinois. Both of Rosalie’s beloved sisters, Janet Brehm and Ruth Ann Bilyeu preceded her in death in 2022.


Rosalie attended grade school and high school in New Berlin Illinois and went on to receive her degree in nursing from MacMurray College in Jacksonville Illinois. While there, she met A.L.
