Francis “Frank” Corrado Rano, 91, a longtime resident of Carlstadt, NJ, and Hoboken, NJ, passed on March 14, 2023.

Frank was born on January 10, 1932 in Molfetta, Italy. He served in the US army during the Korean War era. He was married for 65 years to his sweetheart, Anna A. Ratti until her passing in 2017. Frank was trained in tailoring and worked as a pattern maker first for Evan Picone and later for Liz Claiborne. After retirement, he served as a Carlstadt school crossing guard. Frank enjoyed bowling recreationally, was a member of Carlstadt American Legion Post 69 and Carlstadt Senior Friendship Club. He enjoyed playing cards and rooting for the NY Giants.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Maria Pedalino and her partner, Alan Capaccio; his son, Thomas Rano and wife Deborah Rano; four grandchildren: Brianna, Erik, Shannon Rano and fiancé Joshua Hogan, and Alana Pedalino, and many loving nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Anna née Ratti; his parents, Maria and Tomasso Rano; three sisters Antoinette Gadaleta, Mary De Steno, and Pasqualina (Polly) Santoro; his brother, Francesco Rano; son-in-law Michael Pedalino; and grandbaby Anthony Thomas Rano.

A wake will be held at Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt, on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm. A funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in East Rutherford, will follow on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 9:30am, departing the funeral home at 9am.
