Rita Jane Brooks
<p>Rita Jane Brooks, age 93, a resident of Troy, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11am at Bush Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Alvie Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 10am to 11am. </p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Brooks was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She cherished every moment she spent with her family and loved them dearly. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. </p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her children: Lanette Singleton, Priscilla Walker (Alvie), Luther Marion Brooks, Dana Talbott; 11 grandchildren: Adam Hester, Michelle Walker, Chad Walker, Madison Walker, Skyler Walker, Livvie Walker, Thomas Brooks, Michael Talbott, Brook Talbott, Gary Wayne Brooks, April Brooks; great-grandchildren: Austin Walker (Tori), Blake Baker, Abby Adams, Jeremy Hester, Miya Hernandez, Alixe Hernandez, Wyatt Talbott; and great-great-grandchild, Noah Walker</p><p><br></p><p>She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Brooks, Sr.; Son, Herman Edwards Brooks, Jr.; brother, William Durwood Keys; Sister, Carolyn Randall; grandchildren: Lisa Marie Hester and Christine Hernandez</p>September 22, 1929 - March 14, 202309/22/192903/14/2023
