Scarlet L. ‘Star’ (Hoskins) Morgan, age 66 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday afternoon, March 14, 2023 at her home in Brown County.

Star was born on November 20, 1956 in Hyden, Kentucky to her parents, Jim and Shirley (Morgan) Hoskins. She was a 1974 graduate of Atherton High School in Burton, MI. Star was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her strong faith in God and love for her family.

Star was a member and Assistant Pastor of the Faithful Gospel Church in Brown County. She enjoyed shopping with family and friends, going to church, reading her Bible and watching religious programs on television. Star will be remembered for her excellent cooking & baking, especially her, lasagna, butterscotch delight and biscuits & gravy. She also enjoyed having   parties and hanging out with her mom, children and sisters. Family time meant everything to her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Danny L. Morgan, whom she married on February 14,1976 in Brown County. Star is also survived by her parents, Jim & Shirley Hoskins of Brown County; children, Hobert (Nikki) Morgan & Amanda (Brad Sizemore) Morgan, both of Brown County; siblings, Rita (Harlan) King, Connie Hoskins & Nancy Ella Hoskins, all of Brown County; grandchildren, Azhia, Kinidy & Timber Morgan and Hunter Sizemore.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Hoskins; grandson, Oakley Morgan; and in-laws, Lee & Irma Morgan.

The Revs. Scottie Stanper, Randy LaVere & Mac Smith will conduct a funeral service on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Faithful Gospel Church, 6881 St. Rd. 135 in Brown County. Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will be at Taggart Cemetery in Brown County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
