Elizabeth Anne Coghlan Obituary

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Anne Coghlan of Sylvan Lake, Alberta passed away peacefully, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the age of 76 years. She had been battling pneumonia, and lung difficulties, on top of a diagnosis of chronic regional pain syndrome for over fifteen years. Betty was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 21, 1946 to Rosaline and William Coghlan. She enjoyed softball, camping, fishing, animals, cards, reading, cooking (Cactus Pizza), building and restoring, and the arts. She worked at many different places like Woolco, Abbey’s Arts and Crafts with her brother, Bob, Realtor, and she was a manager of details and finishing at Triple M Homes. Betty was a very strong and independent woman who always met life on her own terms. As a mother and grandmother, all she ever cared about was our happiness. There was nothing she loved more than being around family and friends. Betty will be deeply missed by her children, Jenny and Kevin and her grandchildren, Travis, Jared, Devon, Nicholas and Michael. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Audrey, Susan and Karen and all of her cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Betty was predeceased by her son, Greg; her brothers, William ‘Bill’ and Robert ‘Bob’; her brother in-law, Alex and her parents, Rosaline and William. We give our heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the ICU Department for taking such wonderful care of our mom and would also like to thank Parkland Funeral Home for all their services. Our hearts ache without her but she is bound for another journey and is surely smiling down on us all. Please join us in her “Celebration of Life” at the Shaughnessy Community Hall, Shaughnessy, Alberta on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
