Doreen Rose Ippoliti Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we share the peaceful passing of Doreen Rose Ippoliti on March 14, 2023, at the age of 64. Her resilient spirit, strength and courage carried her through her long-term battle against cancer. She was surrounded by many loving family members and friends.

Doreen was born and raised in Jersey City, and eventually relocated and settled down in Barnegat. A lifelong learner, she acquired her EKG and EMT certifications followed by obtaining her LPN, RN and most recently her BSN as a member of the Chamberlain University Class of 2022. Doreen’s long-standing career in nursing expanded through Point Pleasant Hospital, Brick Hospital and Jersey Shore University Medical Center. A mentor to many, she was encouraging, uplifting and supportive.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to everyone she encountered. Predeceased by her parents, Richard and Ruth Szablewski, she is survived by her beloved daughter Lisa Moritz and her husband Bill of Medford, loving sons, Eric and Matthew Ippoliti of Barnegat, and devoted stepson, Shawn Ippoliti of Brick. Loving Grandmother to William, Lillian and Aliyah. Cherished sister to Richard Szablewski of Lenexa, KS, Glen Szablewski and his wife Renee of Brick, Jacqueline Sarno of Tabernacle, Cathyann McGrath and her husband Michael of Mendham, and her lifelong friend and confidant, Toni Vazir of Chatham. She will be forever missed by her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, loving friends and coworkers.

Doreen was a caring and selfless person in all aspects of her life, the ultimate caretaker to her loved ones and patients alike. She most enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren. She loved playing video games, attending sporting events and watching all the latest movies with Will and Lily. She beamed with pride as Aliyah took her first few steps, enjoying singing and snuggling together.

Always up for an adventure, Doreen thoroughly enjoyed traveling to new places with friends. She could also be found spending time at the beach or poolside, crafting and reading about the latest in fashion and interior design. Known by all as a ray of sunshine from her infectious smile and laugh to her optimistic personality, and of course her beautiful red hair, she will be deeply missed.

A visitation for Doreen is planned for Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. The visitation will be at Layton’s Home for Funerals 250 Lacey Rd., Forked River, NJ. All are invited to attend. A mass will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, at 10 am at St. Pius X Church 300 Lacey Rd. Forked River, NJ.
