Beth L. Muller

<p>Beth Lynne Muller, age 84, of Bethel CT, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Danbury Hospital. </p><p>Beth was born in Greenport, Long Island, November 12, 1938, daughter of the late Malcolm and Agatha (L’Ambrose) Fletcher. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Education at University at Buffalo – SUNY, Beth went on to obtain a Master of Science and Certificate of Advanced Study in Communication Disorders at Southern Connecticut State University. </p><p>Beth married Bruce Paul Muller, PhD in 1960 and resided in Riverdale, New York before moving to Bethel in 1963. Beth led the Speech-Language Pathology program for the Bethel public school system for more than 40 years, providing assessments and therapy as well as mentoring the next generation of SLPs. Beth and Bruce were husband and wife for 57 years, until Bruce died in 2018. Beth was also predeceased by her son, David Bruce Muller, and David’s husband, Michael Daniels, both of Bethel. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Muller, and her husband, John DiMatteo, of Redwood City, CA. </p><p>Beth and Bruce were both foodies who enjoyed fine dining. In addition, Beth was an exceptional home cook who mastered a variety of Italian and German specialties and passed along her love of cooking and entertaining to both of her children. </p><p>Like the rest of her family, Beth was an animal lover. She gifted Bruce his first Siamese cat for Christmas. Several additional Siamese ensued, as well as innumerable cats who took up permanent residence after finding their way to the Muller home. In addition to their cats, Beth and Bruce adored Boxers and were devoted owners of three over the course of their life together.
