William Francis Blascyk "Bill "passed away at the age of 85 on March 14, 2023, in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday March 24, 2023 at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St, Abilene, TX at 9:30am with burial at 11am at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery located at 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, TX 79601. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm at North's Funeral Home Thursday March 23, 2023.

Bill was born December 3, 1937, to Theo and Emily Dickenson Blascyk in Herman, Minnesota. He was the third of four children. He attended Herman schools and worked at Berger Chevrolet as a mechanic helper. In November of 1956, Bill joined the United States Air Force. During his six years in the Air Force, Bill was stationed at Whiteman AFB in Missouri, Yakota AFB in Japan, Osan AFB in Korea, with his final station in 1960 at Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX where he was stationed until being honorably discharged in 1962. In the Air Force, Bill painted everything with wheels, except airplanes, and learned the trade of paint and body work. After getting out of the Air Force, Bill began working at Lawrence Hall Chevrolet in Anson as an auto body man. He worked at various auto body shops until 1982 when he went into business for himself opening Blascyk Paint & Body on Oak Street. Bill had a love for car racing and raced cars from 1966 until 1987 with the #32. Bill also enjoyed racing remote control cars around Texas, Nevada, and Missouri from 1989 to 2000.

Bill sold Blascyk Paint & Body in 2009 and retired from body work. He kept busy transport driving all over the United States for Lawrence Hall Volkswagen, rebuilding and selling lawn mowers, and mowing grass.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Ellen, his parents Theo and Emily, brothers Joseph and Thomas, and niece Julie Storck.

Bill is survived by his daughter Sherri and her mother Ruby, sister Dorothy Storck, stepson Alan Spry and wife Susie, stepdaughter Debbie Mizelle and husband Jim. Nieces and nephews in Minnesota Jason Blascyk and wife Raeshel, Erin Depew and husband Steve, Stephanie Wagner, Steve Storck and wife Pat, Dave Storck, Mike Storck and wife Shelly, Joan Wright and husband Dennis, Jill Henriksen and husband Charlie, Janie Pring and husband Jeff. Grandchildren Seth Conway and wife Lindsey, April Hernandez and husband Adolfo, Rachel Ford and husband Vincent, Amber Ponder and husband Jonathon, Brittani Wilson and husband Gibbs, and Callie Clemens. Great grandchildren Sean and Annie Conway, twins Paige and Presley Ponder, Brooks, Bennett, and Walker Wilson, and twins Royce and Klein Clemens.
