Eddie Espy

Eddie Espy, age 75 of Waverly, KY passed away Saturday March 11, 2023 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX after an 11year battle with lymphoma. He was born January 21, 1948 to Edward and Ruth Helen Roberts Espy in Henderson, KY. Eddie will be remembered as a hard-working, proud 4th generation farmer still living on his family’s home place and tending the same land as his parents, grandparents and great grandparents . He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was very proud of his Catholic faith. But more than his lifelong farming career and his deep-rooted faith, his proudest accomplishment was his family. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ruth Helen Roberts Espy

Daughter: Laura Wheatley and husband Eddie of Waverly, KY

6 Grandchildren: Audrey Girten and husband Quaid

Caroline Wheatley and fiancé Jacob Tapp

Anna, Olivia, Waylon, and Claudia Wheatley

Great Granddaughter: Savannah Girten

One great granddaughter expected in June

The service will be 11AM Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waverly. Fr. Dave Johnson will officiate. The burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery. The visitation will be 4-8PM Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield and 9AM until service time on Saturday at the church.
