Linda R. Taylor Obituary

Linda Rochelle Taylor, daughter of Loretta B. Taylor and the late Clarence E. Taylor, was born on

May 25th, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware. She departed this life on March 3rd, 2023 at Christiana Hospital

surrounded by her loving family.

She received her early education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware and graduated

from Howard High School of Technology in 1973. Linda’s work history spans over 30 years working for

Cokesbury Village Retirement Community and Elite Cleaning Services. It was at these two places where

she got to work with her two best friends, the dearly departed Daphine Scrivens and Terry Fassett.

Linda enjoyed the simple things in life. One of her favorite things to do was sitting on her front

porch with family. Linda’s front porch was the gathering place during the summer months. She would

cook enough food for whoever stopped by, and there was guarantee to be crab feasts. The meal that

everyone loved the most was her pork yok. If you ever had it than you’d understand why. She also loved

music. When you walked in her house music was playing from her kitchen 24 hours a day, and her

favorite artist was the legendary Marvin Gaye. Her face would light up and she always said “that’s still

my baby” whenever she heard his songs. But, what Linda loved the most was teddy bears. She started

collecting teddy bears in 1980s, and she had knick knack teddy bears in every room in her house.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Clarence E. Taylor Sr., 1 grandson Corey P. Anderson

Jr., 2 brothers Robert and Clarence Taylor Jr., and 1 sister Robin Govins.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother Loretta B. Taylor, the love of her life

Garnett Blackiston, 4 children Catonya, Yalonda, Garnett(Lynette), and Shayne Taylor, sisters,

Pamela(Charles)Black, Josephine Cassidy, Lola and Trudy Taylor, brothers Rosley Taylor Sr., Ronald,

Bruce and Clarence Taylor, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, a dedicated nephew

Rosley(Woody) Taylor Jr., and a host of family and friends.
