Milton Scott Obituary

Deacon Milton Scott, a son of the late Deacon Jimmie and Sally Scott was born on October 15, 1919, in Aiken, South Carolina and entered into eternal rest Friday, November 26, 2010 at his home. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lemire and sisters Ida, Lubertha, Sarah and Pearlean. Early in life, he joined the Old Rosemary Baptist Church and remained there throughout his life. He was ordained a Deacon and served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. He served as Sunday School Teacher and later Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was educated in the Public Schools of Aiken County. He was a lifelong Master Carpenter. In 1941, Milton married the former Meta C. Meyer and three children were born to this union. The memory of Milton Scott will live on in the hearts and minds of those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His wife of sixty-nine years, Meta; two sons, Milton E. Scott (Lula), Decatur, GA and Dolphis F. Scott (Sandra), Monroe, GA; one daughter; Dorothy S. Grant, Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren, Charles, Monique, Yvette, Adrienne, Derek, Tillet and Keisha; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmie Scott (Mary), Montmorenci, SC and one sister, Nancy Craig (Henry) Aiken, SC; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other surviving relatives and friends.
