Beth M. Wolford, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Community South. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Troy (Lisa) and Travis; grandchildren, Micheal, Priscilla, Morgan, and Ty; great-grandchildren, Kaia, Rowan, Savannah, Levi, and Caden. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd.

Few people who knew Beth realized that early in her life she was an unemployed mother of three young sons with no job skills and so it seemed no future. To feed her children she set about the only marketable skill she had, cleaning homes. Fate smiled when the lady of one of the homes recognized Beth’s potential. With the help of her mentor, she rose to become the only manager in Ameritech without a college degree. In fact, she made her way through life with a GED, an incredible work ethic, and an engaging personality that could charm anyone and win the support of all she met.

Beth collected stray cats. Her empathy for animals lost or mistreated was boundless. Her support of ASPCA and shelters grew throughout her life.

It is the world’s loss that her secret recipe for soft chocolate chip cookies was never passed on.

Beth was convinced her soul would float through the universe forever. We suspect that’s happening now.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 4:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 2:00pm until the funeral hour.
