Eileen Dyett Obituary

Eileen (Feeney) Dyett triumphantly passed away, Saturday, March 11, 2023. Born August 9, 1950, St. Joseph's Riverside Hospital, in Warren,Ohio, to Cecelia (Donahue) and Terrence Feeney.

Eileen graduated from Warren JFK in 1968. She worked 10+ years at St. Joe's, 10+ at Second National Bank. Eileen was very proud of her 40+ years as a volunteer at St. Joe's. She was equally prideful of her status as a founding member of the Western Reserve Quilters.

Eileen will be missed dearly by her "bear", her husband of 50 years, Larry V. Dyett, sons, Andrew L. "Scoober", (Cory) Dyett, Matthew P. "Matt Pat" Dyett, grandchildren Connor, Eva, Holden, and Sawyer (nothing made her happier than being "Grammy"), sister-in-law, Colleen (Dyett) Swartz (Gene), brother Timothy (Joyce) Feeney of Austintown, and sister, Sheila York of Mansfield, numerous nieces, and nephews, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Martin (Irene Crawford) and Terrence (Julie), and sister, Jane (Ralph) Sanders, mother-in-law, Leora (Burns) Dyett, father-in-law, Ronald Dyett, brothers-in-law, Ron (Sue) Dyett, and Bob.

Ask Larry about her PASSION for buying bolts of fabric to stock the "mercantile", or the boys about a penchant for buying Oriental rugs on vacation. She LOVED quilting, sewing (as witnessed by her home atelier), making, and baking. If you've had Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake, one of her pies, or any of a variety of cookies,  you already know. She was an amazing cook, and NEVER made an average meal; turkey dinner being the stuff of legend.

Loyal friend, voracious reader, convicted in her beliefs, fighter of injustice, blessed with an incredible wit, imagination, sense of humor, and a gift for storytelling, Eileen was inimitable, an unstoppable force of nature, and an all-around hoot to have in your life.

A wake will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Cortland, on Thursday, March 16, from 10-11am, with funeral Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rev. Carl Kish Youth Ministry Scholarship Fund at St. Robert Bellarmine Church.

Caring and Professional arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, NE, Warren, Ohio 44483, 330-394-6200. Dedicated To Serving Your Loved Ones. This obituary may be viewed, and condolences sent to www.statonborowskifuneralhome.com.
