Harland Mower, Jr.

<p>&nbsp; </p><p>Little Falls – Harland Mower, Jr., 85, a lifelong resident of the Little Falls area, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023,&nbsp;at Little Falls Hospital, with his family by his side. </p><p>He was born on February 4, 1938, in Schuyler, NY the son of the late Harland and Marjorie (Gyer), Mower, Sr.&nbsp; Harland was educated in West Canada Schools. </p><p>Harland was previously married to Sharon Wells, with whom he ran the family farm and had four children. He later was united in marriage to Dawn (Davis) Gressler on November 19, 1996. The couple shared a blessed union of 22 years until the passing of Dawn on July 20, 2018. </p><p>Mr. Mower enjoyed socializing and frequented the local Stewart’s shop to enjoy a cup of coffee and visit with his friends. In addition to farming, Harland hauled milk in the Fairfield area and hauled cattle over a large section of Central New York. In his leisure time, he was an avid country music fan and had his own remarkable singing voice. </p><p>Survivors include his children, Patricia (Michael) Hillman of Newport, Bonnie (James) Elwood of Newport and Thomas Mower of Little Falls; three step-sons, Edward (Patty) Sklarz, John (Michelle) Sklarz and Richard and (Michelle) Gressler, with whom he had a special relationship with; one step-daughter, Sandra Sklarz; grandchildren, Rachelle Gross, Michael Mower, Michael and Steven Hillman, Regis Cotton, Renee Przelski and Rebecca Elwood; step- grandchildren, Mariyah &amp; Izaiah Gressler; Jessica &amp; Alicia Sklarz, Shayla &amp; John Sklarz and Adam Sklarz; 11 great grandchildren; three brothers, Gradin Mower of Ilion, Arnold Mower of Middleville and Lloyd Mower of Aurora, CO. </p><p>He was pre-deceased by a son, Harland Mower, III; four sisters, Lovetta Rose, Marjorie Wright, Madaline Carpenter, and Madalyn Starlin and a brother, Arleigh Randall. </p><p>In keeping with Harland’s wishes, funeral services and burial at Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Little Falls, NY will be private and held at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets) 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. </p>
