Glenda Fay Gathright Obituary

Glenda Fay Gathright of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on March 10, 2023, at the age of 79. Glenda was born in Garrison, Texas, on April 20, 1943, the daughter of Carl Neal Youngblood and Ruby Lee (McDaniel) Youngblood.

Glenda was a warm, hardworking, and faithful woman who was, above all else, a devoted wife and mother. She loved the Lord and grew up in the church, eventually becoming the Sunday School teacher. Glenda enjoyed working for Continental Plastics, a career she loved and dedicated herself to for over 30 years. When she wasn’t working hard for Continental, Glenda was a loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed cooking for those she loved, and her children especially loved her manicotti and homemade chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed watching sports in her free time and loved cheering on the OKC Thunder, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns. She also enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis, and loved to tell the story about sneaking into an Elvis concert, where she got the once in a lifetime opportunity to hold his hand while he sang. Glenda lived her life with grace, dignity, and love. She will be very dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony N. Gathright, her mother, Ruby Nichols, her father, Carl Neal Youngblood, and one sister, Alice Bilbrey.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Brenda Nelson, Carrie Lynch, Melisa Jerry Everett, and “The Favorite Son”, Jerry Everett, along with her brother, Carl Neal Youngblood Jr., and many more loving family and friends.
