Trinity, FL - Carol D. Behen, 83, of Trinity, FL passed away after a long battle recovering from a stroke.

She was born Carol Savageau in Portsmouth, NH to the late Alfred J. & Grace Savageau.

She was the widow of the late retired MSgt. Robert F. Behen whom she met and married when he was first stationed at Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH.

She traveled with him from NH to Japan, New Mexico, Maine, Belgium, and back to Pease AFB in NH. During those travels she gave birth to Dawn, Mark, Scott, Kevin, and Shawn.

She enjoyed her years of travel and all the different neighbors that she became fast friends with. Once back in NH she worked at Bradlees, and then JC Penney, for many years before retiring. She loved coffee, crocheting, crosswords, movies, bingo, Goofy, and watching her grandchildren in their activities.

She was predeceased by her husband and sons, Mark, and Shawn.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Behen; two sons, Scott Behen and his wife Cristina, and Kevin Behen and his wife Kelly. She had six grandchildren, Caitlen and her husband, Justin Cordes, Zachary Malm, Ryan Malm, Riley Behen, Mason Behen, and Emory Behen. She had three great-grandchildren, Ayla Cordes, Justin David Cordes, and Asher Cordes. She is also survived by several sisters, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.

Services: A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, March 17th at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St, Portsmouth. A Celebration of her life will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 18th, at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth.
