Ernest Webster Davis, III entered this life on May 21, 1969, and transitioned on March 11, 2023. During his life, he began each day with his goals in mind. He had a solid work ethic and used his knowledge and experiences to improve the lives of others. To share a conversation with Ernest was always a joyful and memorable experience, as he had THE MOST infectious and memorable laugh one would ever hear.

He was the firstborn child of Ernest Webster Davis, Jr. and Pamela Davis Wynn. He and Arnisa Jones were married 20 years, and during this union, Ernest W. Davis, IV and Desmond Davis were born. He referred to them as "My Boys". His love for them was immeasurable.  They were the joys of his life.

Ernest’s education began at Nova Southeastern Elementary and St. Clement’s Catholic School. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. After high school, he entered the United States Navy, where he spent 22 years. He served as a Naval electrician and later joined the elite unit as a US Navy Deep Sea Diver. He worked very hard to become a Navy Deep Sea diver and that accomplishment was a great source of pride. Later during his Naval career, he served as a recruiter and went on to train other soldiers in diving survival training. While on active duty, he earned two associate degrees. After retiring, he entered the University of North Florida and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health Administration. He continued to earn a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Educational Leadership.

Ernest founded First Coast Educators Insurance, a small business that specialized in providing affordable coverage to teachers and their families. Since then, Ernest has held various positions at different insurance organizations, gaining valuable experience along the way. 

He had a heart of gold. Much of his time was spent volunteering, significantly to help veterans. He served on the VA Board of Directors. He also served with the Disabled American Veterans as Commander for the Cathay Williams Chapter 7. He was dedicated to serving the Clara White Mission, which offers support and meals for the hungry and transitional housing for the homeless. He was instrumental in getting a van to get veterans to and from their doctor’s appointments. His drive to help those less fortunate and his commitment to uplifting the community made him a beloved figure in the Veterans community. Serving as an example of humility, kindness, and generosity throughout his life. This is a true testament to his commitment to giving back, serving others, and making an impact on the world throughout his lifetime.

Ernest leaves behind his wife, Arnisa; his sons, Ernest, better known as Deji; Desmond, better known as Desi; his mother, Pamela; his sister, Michaela (Medan); brother, Ashon (Chrissy); great aunt, Jenice Bowie; aunts, Barbara Williams, Ernestine Wagner, and Evelyn Williams; uncle, Noel McMillian; mother and father-in-law, Tessie and Ceasar Davis; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

The legacy of Ernest Webster Davis, III will live on in the lives and hearts of family and everyone he touched. His spirit and enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression that cannot be forgotten. 

May his family and friends find peace during this challenging time. We ask that you keep his wife, children and family in your thoughts and prayers. Ernest will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will remain in our hearts and memories forever. Rest in power, King! We love you!
