<p>Anantha Lakshmi Nathan</p><p><br></p><p>Ananthi, as she was affectionately known, was born on January 14, 1944, the second of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. T. Sankaran Pillai. She grew up in Chennai, India as part of an extended family. She graduated from Ethiraj College in Chennai with a degree in economics. In 1972 she married Mr. A.R. Nathan and immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s, living in Richmond, Virginia for over 35 years before moving to Northern Virginia in 2022. She worked in the insurance field in Richmond and later was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother to her son, Sarath. She was fiercely independent throughout her life and known for her talented cooking. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by her two siblings, Anantha Krishnan and Damayanthy Sundaresan, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, her son Sarath Nathan, and nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.</p>January 14, 1944 - March 12, 202301/14/194403/12/2023
