<p></p><p><br></p><p>Jimmy William Morlen, 71, of Wiley Ford, WV, passed away on March 13, 2023 at Dawnview Nursing Home.</p><p><br></p><p>Jimmy was born in Harmon, West Virginia on March 22, 1951. He was the son of the late Oras W. Morlen and Marvel K. Pennington</p><p>Morlen. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Maudie C. (Smith) Morlen, and Edward and Cecelia J (Smith) Pennington.</p><p><br></p><p>Jimmy was a graduate of Ridgely High School, Class of 1969. Throughout Jimmy’s life, he worked at many different jobs. He was a security guard, painter, linesman, and he worked in maintenance. He was a member of the Cumberland Moose Club and Burlington Ruritan Club. He was a member of the Wiley Ford Church of the Brethren. Jimmy enjoyed refurnishing furniture and painting. He was an avid deer hunter. Jimmy always enjoyed getting together with family and friends for a cookout. He also loved gardening and spent many hours doing it.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen M. Morlen, Asheville NC and three stepchildren Jeff Vance, Jennifer Vance Rohrbaugh, and Jackie Vance Spiker; grandchildren, Nicholas Gevedon, United States Navy and Elizabeth Gevedon, Asheville NC; siblings, Danny L. Morlen and wife Sue, Wiley Ford, WV, Bonnie Reid, Ridgeley, WV, and Janie Vanskiver and husband Johny, Fort Ashby, WV. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his special friend, Don Shirley.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, MD on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 11am to 1 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm with Pastor Phil Matthews officiating.
