Mr. Eddie Leon Gary was born in Mineral Wells, TX on July 26, 1943, and departed this life on March 10, 2023, at Laurens County Prisma Hospital in Laurens, SC.

Eddie was the son of the late Willie and Flogene Gary. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife Maria Gary; his son William Gary Sr; his stepson Kevin Nelson, and two sisters, Marchetta Hamer and Mygreet George.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Barbara; five children, Jeffrey Gary (Isaiah) of Laurens, SC, Darrin Gary (Rebecca) of Laurens, SC, Julia Gary (Robert) of Elkton, MD, Marin Grimin of Spartanburg, SC, and William Gary Jr. (Kayla) of Woodruff, SC; three stepchildren, Mindy Berryman (Elvis) of Laurens, SC, James Sims of Texas, and Michael Sims of Texas; one sister, Mable Carolyn Choate (Dickie) of Texas ; 31 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and host of nieces and nephews.

Eddie was a retired US Army veteran, and was extremely proud to have served his country. He enjoyed singing, playing his guitar, and spending time with his family.

Floyd Family Funeral Home is responsible for all arrangements. Visitation for the public will be Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Floyd Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1pm. Pastor Steve Love of Knighton Chapel Wesleyan Church of Laurens SC is the officiating minister.
