<p>Amy Holmes of Lockport, IL, was born on October 15, 1967, to the late Alice and Joe Holmes Jr. </p><p>On Monday, March 13, 2023, at the age of 55; God called Amy home as she had completed her life's work and summoned her to rest from her labors, and she departed this life peacefully. Amy dedicated her life to Christ at an early age as a faithful servant of the Lord. It showed how she treated everyone around her with her vibrant spirit that lit up any room. Amy had a love for sports, a special love for music, and loved to dance. </p><p>Amy attended Joliet East High School until 1983, attending Joliet West High School and graduating Class of 1985. Amy went on to work various jobs, with Walmart being her most recent for the past 16 years. </p><p>Amy is preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Joe Holmes; and one brother, Jerry Holmes; maternal grandparents, David and Sallyann Kemp; paternal grandparents, Ethel Washington and Joe Holmes Sr.; and one brother-in-law, Richard Shaw; numerous aunts and uncles.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>Amy leaves to celebrate her life; four sisters, Emma (Ronnie) Catchings, Joyce Shaw, Janice (Ray) Donners, and Lorena (Tyrone) Turner; life companion, James Walton; nieces, Quinitia Holmes, Patrice (Ralph) Blakney, Sharonda Shaw, Tasha Mobley Dominque Donners, Shareata Donners and Ryleigh Randolph; nephews, Torrance Holmes, Richard Shaw, Brian Shaw and Donovan Holmes; numerous family and friends. </p>

Amy Holmes of Lockport, IL, was born on October 15, 1967, to the late Alice and Joe Holmes Jr.

On Monday, March 13, 2023, at the age of 55; God called Amy home as she had completed her life's work and summoned her to rest from her labors, and she departed this life peacefully.
