Steve Monroe Ford Obituary

Steve Monroe Ford, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend to many passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023, with his family by his side.  Steve leaves a legacy of love and friendship with all those hearts he touched.

Steve was born on April 14, 1953, in San Diego, California to Louis and Goldie Mae (Broyles) Ford.  Steve leaves behind his 2 children; Steven (Kristin) Ford and Crystal (Jared) Easton, his brothers John Ford, Jack Ford, and Jeremy Ford, his wife Natalie Ford, and stepchildren Raymond, Jojo, Russell, Aaron, and Raylene Cooley.  His grandchildren; are Ryan, Kylie, Bryonna, Cayleerae, Isaac, Kayson, Keyla, Trey, Orlando, Bentley, Abel, Ashlynn, and many nieces and nephews.  Before Steve’s passing, he was about to be a first-time great-grandpa.  Of course, he also leaves behind many other dear family and friends that he loved and who will undoubtedly miss him very much.

When thinking of Steve it is hard not to think of the 3 brothers; Steve, Jack & John.  They were always so close to each other.  Like all families, there were some memorable, not-so-good moments but many really special ones. The best part is they grew up to be very good strong men.

When Steve’s family moved to Spring Valley where they attended elementary school, Steve received a greeting card from former President Eisenhower, for his good citizenship and other honors.

Steve’s hobbies growing up were carpet laying and taking care of his brothers.  Steve moved to Lakeview in the winter of 1995 where he stayed with his children until he was able to get back on his feet.  He went to work for Scott and Tonya Mobley for many years.  After that, he moved back to San Diego, Ca with his wife, Natalie, his brother, John, and his wife Trudy, living there until their house burnt down.  At that point, they decided to move back to Lakeview, Oregon where he resided until his passing.  Steve had a passion for helping anyone he could when he could.  Steve will be missed by all his friends and family.

A celebration of life was held on April 14, 2023, at Desert Rose Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM, with pastor Mike Newcombe officiating.  This was Steve’s birthday, so it was fitting to celebrate him on this day.  A balloon bouquet was released into the sky to reach him for his birthday.
