Obituary

Dutton Allan Dastrup came into this world with the extra help of science in the early morning on Friday, March 10, 2023, to his eagerly awaiting parents, Dyllon Allan Dastrup and Kylie Antonino Dastrup. Dutton stayed with us for just over 28 hours with the help of modern medicine and a whole lot of love. He peacefully slipped back into heaven in his mother’s arms Saturday, March 11, 2023 surrounded by his parents and grandparents.

Dutton was tiny, at just one and a half pounds, but such a fighter. While in transport up to the NICU he wouldn’t let the nurses give up on him. Even after pulling out his breathing tube and scaring everyone in the hospital, he still hung onto life. He had a full head of dark, wavy hair that went all the way down his neck and back and sideburns that made his Uncles jealous. He had a perfect little round face and the cutest eyelashes and eyebrows framing his tender eyes. He loved to clasp onto his mom’s finger and melt into his dad's chest.

We like to joke that in his few short hours on earth Dutton had more adventures than his dad has had in 30 years–riding in an ambulance, an airplane, and even a helicopter as well as winning the hearts of all the nurses with that tiny adorable little face and fierce fighting personality.

Dutton leaves behind his heartbroken parents, grandparents (Craig and Laura Dastrup, Jared and Kandice Antonino), great-grandparents (Mark and Laurel Koyle, Gary and Sally Antonino, Lynette and Kerry Posey), great-great grandmother (Joan Thomas), numerous aunts and uncles, many who were excited to take on this new title, and lots of cousins.

We were all hopeful that Dutton’s tiny body would be able to withstand this world but know that he is now in a better place continuing his journey and preparing for when we will be able to snuggle him again. We are grateful for the precious hours he gave us, breathing on his own without tubes, IVs, or machines, allowing us to take in every piece of him and hold him tightly.

A small memorial service will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00am in the Mountain View Ward Chapel, 275 S. 1400 E., Spanish Fork. A viewing for friends and family will be held that morning from 9:30 - 10:30 at the church. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

Condolences for the family may be expressed on this page.
