Robert E. Ludwig, 95, of Brick, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Willow Springs in Brick. Bob was born in Pompton Lakes, NJ. After graduating High School in 1945, he entered the US Airforce and was honorably discharged in 1947. He married Katherine “Kay” (Ball) in August of that year. He worked as a salesman for Royal Pontiac Oldsmobile for 23 years in Butler, NJ. Prior to that, he was a butcher and a debit agent for Prudential. In 1985, Kay’s office was moving to Bradenton, FL so they moved and lived there until returning home to NJ in February of 1997. They settled in Greenbriar Adult Community in Brick, NJ to be near family. Kay became ill with Parkinson’s and was in a nursing home for 4 years before passing in March of 2012, while Bob never left her side. He was passionate about sports, his church in Brielle, being with his family, enjoying a Manhattan and an occasional cigar in the company of his beloved cats. He is survived by two daughters, Robin McGuire and Joy Triano, and her husband Ray; his grandchildren, Matthew McGuire and wife, Shumaila Alam, Shane McGuire, Brooke McGuire, Raymond Triano III and Robert Triano; and his great grandchildren, Sophia, Zakariya and Aliana. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 4-7 pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Memorial Service will begin at 5:30 p.m.
