<p>PLEASANTDALE John I. MacDougall III, 64, of Marion Ave. passed away Sunday March 12, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cohoes he was educated in Mechanicville Schools and was the son of Dorothy Durocher MacDougall of Mechanicville and the late John I MacDougall Jr.</p><p><br></p><p>John has been employed for the past 43 years as a heavy equipment operator with Douglas R. Dyer & Sons in Hemstreet Park. He was a life member of both the Pleasantdale Rod and Gun Club and Pleasantdale Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors in addition to his mother include his loving wife of 39 years, Jane Duchowny MacDougall and his devoted daughter Courtney Painton (Stephen) of Troy. He is the brother of Kenneth MacDougall (JoAnn) of Valley Falls, Dennis MacDougall and Bonnie MacDougall of Mechanicville. Also surviving is his adopted grandson Jace-Tyler I. Horton of Troy as well as several nieces and nephews and his canine companions Kodiak and Bella.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 18, 2023 at 4 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friend are invited and may visit with his family at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 pm prior to the memorial service.</p><p><br></p><p>Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Pleasantdale Fire Department, 1178 River Rd., Troy, NY 12182</p><p><br></p>August 12, 1958 - March 12, 202308/12/195803/12/2023
