<p>On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Julie Pendley, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 69, one week shy of her 70th birthday.</p><p><br></p><p> Julie was born on February 23, 1953, sharing her birthday with her daddy, Vance VanDusen, and bringing joy to her mother, Helen Felix VanDusen. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah. In December of 1972, she married Gary Pendley, and started the adventure of being a military wife, being stationed in England, New Mexico, and Okinawa, Japan. They had two children, Vance Pendley, and Samala Pendley Bunting.</p><p><br></p><p> She had many careers, from working with the IRS, making IVs, as a telephone operator, and a long stint with the civil service as an executive secretary, serving lastly with the U.S. Forest Service. She volunteered with the Abused Spouse Shelter while in Okinawa, and was very involved in church activities - soprano in the choir, Sunday School teacher, and many other positions. She enjoyed helping people and showing the Love of God to the hurting. She was known for her love for God, her family, and her friends. She had a funny sense of humor, and was known for her kindness, compassion, and giving spirit.</p><p><br></p><p> She was preceded in death by both parents, her brother, Ed VanDusen, granddaughter Hannah Bunting, and her loving husband. She is survived by her children and their spouses, six grandchildren (Liam Bunting and his wife Taylor; Jotham, Emily, and Rebekah Bunting, and Kyron and Lyra Pendley), two great-grandchildren (Andrew Layfield Bunting and Hannah Bunting), sister Sally Walker and her husband Dick, and several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p> Her Going Home Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 15, 2023, and 1p.m. at Living Word Church at 1901 17th Ave NE, Rio Rancho, NM. Flowers can be delivered to the church until 3p.m. the week of the funeral, and until 11a.m. on April 14th. There will be a memorial book for guests to leave a memory, and anyone who wants to stand up and give a memory is welcome (please let me know ahead of time, if possible).
