Amy Kent

Union Community- Amy Daleigh Payne Kent was born in Tupelo on February 24, l965 to the late Bobby Joe Payne and Mary Faye Langley Payne, who survives. Amy, after several years of declining health, met her Creator from her longtime home in the Union Community south of Plantersville on Monday, March 13, 2023. She was 58 years old. Amy lived most of her life on the land that her forebears homesteaded. She loved the country life, was an adventurous soul and enjoyed the independence it gave her. Amy worked in several convenience stores for years and was a Certified Nursing Assistant before her health failed. No one loved yard sales and selling more than she did and she was a prolific Facebook user. Her strong personality never went unnoticed. Whether family or friends, she enjoyed loud and lively conversations with all, always freely giving her opinion whether you liked it or not. She grew up in the Union United Methodist Church.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Union Community Church on Hwy 6 with family friend, Steve Holland, speaking. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends.

Amy is survived by her children, Beth Wiygul Robinson of Somerville, Tn. and Bubba Wiygul of the Union Community; her mother, Gaye Langley Payne of the Union Community. The apple of her eye were her two grandchildren, Hudson and Sawyer Robinson, whom “Mamie” loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her day, Bobby Joe Payne, her grandparents, Margaret Langley and “Nook” Langley and Mary and Lee Payne.
