He is survived by his children: Kim Schmitz, Tami Schmitz-Ferry and Kirk (Melissa) Schmitz; grandchildren: Nick, Austin, Shyanne, Michael, Mikeil, Brook, Lauryn, Brooke, seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Donna, Jacquie, Nerita, Shelly and a host of family and friends.
