Norma Geraldine Busboom
Norma was born in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska to John and Laura Harris on August 5, 1932. She grew up on the farm with her younger sister and brother, Irene and Don. Here they shared many adventures along the lilac-lined creek.She married the love of her life, Lawrence, on her birthday at Zion Lutheran Church, which Lawrence's grandfather Mumme was instrumental in building. Growing together in love they raised their family of three: Gary, Connie and Dan. They were gifted with well over sixty years of marriage. Norma ran her business and long career as a seamstress out of her home, creating fabulous outfits for her clients who loved her. Eventually she went to work at J. Braggs Fine Clothiers enjoying the many people she met there. Norma shared her talents serving the Lord by creating a multitude of wonderful banners for St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, where they still hang today! Her and Lawrence were long-time members and often served on boards developing its growth in the community.She loved embroidering lovely pictures as well as playing the piano. Norma's musical talent came through in her and Lawrence's love for dancing, which they often did to the sound of Big Bands with their wonderful friends from church and the Tangier Shrine. When Lawrence became President of The Mobile Nobles train group as a Shrine, Norma was his "right-hand man." She was an amazing support behind the scenes as his shrine lady.We are so grateful for her many examples of strength and love; she was a woman of beauty and integrity.As a cherished wife, mother, and wonderful friend she will truly be missed...We Love You Norma!SERVICES will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in honor of Norma are suggested to Tangier Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund.
