Fred F. Anderson

Fred was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who left this earth on November 3, 2017 leaving a void in the hearts of those whom dearly loved him. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. He is survived by his wife, Ellie; sister, Kathy Rossitto; sisters-in-law, Jean Anderson and Mary Ann Anderson; his children, Lori (Brian) Rhodig, Michael Anderson, Kelly (Jim) Anderson-Gilmore, Karen Welchert and their mother, Jan Anderson-Dworak; daughter-in-law, Holly Anderson; step-daughters, Michelle Miller and Bethany Miller; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was a custom home builder for over 50 years, served as a Sergeant in the National Guard for 13 years, drag racing enthusiast who was inducted into the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2011.FUNERAL SERVICE 2pm, Tuesday at Forest Lawn. Visitation 6-8pm Monday at Forest Lawn. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Fred was a great friend, and mentor, for over 50 years, he helped me a lot in my racing days, we still spoke often. I will miss him dearly, and he will always be in my prayers!

Our deepest sympathy to Lori and your family. Your Dad helped with us several projects at our home in Council Bluffs. He was hard to keep up with but it always turned out great. It was an honor to know and to have worked with him.

Ellie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Fred was a great guy. I will miss seeing him every week at the cancer center. He always had a smile even when he didn't feel great. May you be surrounded with love and hope and keep the memories close.
