Julia Reynolds Steenburg of Stuart, FL entered into eternal rest on September 28, 2016. Julia was born on October 26, 1933 in Sioux City, IA to Laura and Edward (Ned) C. Reynolds. The family moved to Omaha, NE in the 1940s where Julia attended Brownell Talbot School and Central High School. Julia attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she received her English Degree.Upon college graduation Julia returned to Omaha where she raised her family and pursued various business interests which included owning Lace & Liberty, a woman's sports apparel shop, managing The Steam Shed Restaurant, and being one of the top realtors with CBSHome. In 1987 their love of the ocean took Julia and her husband, Dr. Richard Steenburg, to Stuart, FL where they spent the rest of their life together enjoying their time with their children and grandchildren.Julia was an Aksarben Princess and a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, Junior League of Omaha and the Colonial Dames.Julia was preceded in death by her husband Richard of 32 years. She is survived by her three loving children Richard Paynter, Laura Paynter of Ocala, FL, James E. Sibbernsen of Ocala, FL, four grandchildren; Kirsten Sue Sibbernsen, Jes Everts Sibbernsen, Cassie Rose Sibbernsen, Candice Rayne Sibbernsen, all of Ocala, FL, her brother Joel Barlow Reynolds (Lois) of Omaha, NE, two nieces; Susan Reynolds Harned (Roger) of Denver, CO and Jennifer Reynolds Herold of Hastings, NE, cousins and dear friends.A memorial service will be held October 11, 2016, at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 7909 Mormon Bridge Road, Omaha, NE.In lieu of flowers please send donations to Omaha Home for Boys.
