Gary was preceded in death by his mother Gayle, his father George and his stepmother Dorothy. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janet Schmidt: 3 Children; Tammy (Mike) Harvey, Rick (Sue) Schmidt, Jim (Teri) Schmidt. 3 Siblings; Sally Gilbreath (Joe), Dave Schmidt, Susan (Kelly) Nicklin. 2 Brother-in-laws; Larry (Judy) Webster, Don (Diane) Webster. 9 Grandchildren; Matt (Erica) Schmidt, Tara (Travis) Kiichler, TJ (Angie) Schmidt, Lisa Johnson, Kristin (Brian) Watkins, Joshua Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt (Fianc Allie Romero), Levi (Amber) Schmidt & Andrew Harvey. 11 Great Grandchildren; Adrian, Madilyn, Anna, Aletheia, Marek, Isaiah, Camden, Sophia, Landry, Clay, Nora, and many other family members and friends. Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery immediately following funeral services. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
