Mildred V. Jones

Mildred Viola Jones was born June 25, 1928 to Woodley Reeves Hobbs and Mary Excella (Butts) Hobbs in Winona, Mississippi, she passed away on June 27, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska.Mildred is survived by her children: Arlene Dacus, Julius Jones (Vickie), Alan Jones (Belinda); grandchildren: Lynette Dacus, Brad Dacus, John Coleman, Lena Billings (Eugene), Talia Shivers (Donell), Rashad Jones (Di'Ondra), Alan Slaughter (Augustina), Stephan Slaughter; eighteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; Life Care Center of Omaha; Serene Hospice Care; and Knights and Ladies of St. Peter Claver. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents: Woodley Reeves Hobbs and Mary Excella (Butts) Hobbs; son, Mark Edwin Jones; siblings: Calvin Coolidge Hobbs (Gloria), John Douglas Hobbs.Mildred was an example and lifeline for so many. She was away of and excited about celebrating her 93rd Birthday. Mildred will be missed by many.Graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior the service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
