Helen Louise Taylor

Helen Louise (Floerchinger) Taylor, daughter of Martin and Caroline (Bloedel) Floerchinger was born August 30, 1923 in Omaha, Nebraska. On November 5, 1944 Helen was united in marriage to Stanley Ray Taylor at Kountz Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children: Marcia Louise, Kathy Marie, and Randy Scott. After gradutiong from north High, she took a job at the First National Bank in downtown Omaha as an elevator operator. Helen made many pies in the kitchen at the Blackstone Hotel in Omaha and worked at Kilpatricks as a seamstress in the drapery department. Helen was an accomplished seamstress; she could make anything, and she also loved to knit and crochet. Helen was an avid gardener, at the age of 89 she still planted a very large garden, canned a lot of her produce and she also loved planting flowers. From 1936-1944 Helen was an Honorary Member of the Order of Job's Daughters. Helen loved her church. Later in life when she could not get there anymore, church came to her. Her fear friend Ellie brought communion to her once a month. She would also watch the Sunday morning service on her T.V. On February 26, 2021 Helen entered the Josie Harper Hospice House after a decline in her health. It was there she passed away on May 14, 2021 having reached the age of 97 years, 8 months and 14 days. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ray Taylor, brother Howard Floerchinger and sister-in-law Betty Floerchinger. Left to cherish her life are daughter Marcia (Delyn) Goering of Auburn, Nebraska, and son Randy (Wanda) Taylor of Omaha, Nebraska. Five grandchildren: Jenny (Eric) Jones of Harlan, Iowa; Sara (Pete) Bunting of Auburn, Nebraska; Missy Shutts of Auburn, Nebraska; Randi Taylor of Manhattan, Kansas and Nick Taylor of Omaha, Nebraska. Ten great-grandchildren: Alex, Andrew, Parker, and Sydney Jones; Kamron Fender, Darci (Cameron) Milke, Navy Wright, Hunter Shutts, Gunnar Shutts and Madelyn Sletcha. Great-great-grandson Baby Milke, expected in July. Sister Carolyn (Bill) McDonald. Many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Private family and graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 19th with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested in Helen's name to Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 2650 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68131 where she had been a member for 85 years.
