Gertrude "Gert" Block-Ray, age 92, the daughter of William F. and Bertha Ackermann, was born July 13, 1926. She passed away November 9, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska.Gertrude is survived by her children, Linda Timanus (Barry), Steven Block (Shelley), Debra Merrill (Dennis); eight grandchildren, Jill Johnson, Stephanie Chevalier, Michael Timanus (Christian), Anthony Timanus, Megan Stegmaier, Haley Merrill (Louis), Heath Merrill, Cody Merrill ; 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Bertha Ackermann; first husband, Marvin Block; second husband, Glen Ray; grandson, Adrian Block; siblings, Charlotte Conkling, Cyril Ackermann, Wilbur Ackermann, William Ackermann.CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Forest Lawn Historic Chapel.
