Barbara Jean "Bobbie" (Hill) Wilson GeigerMarch 1, 1927 - March 8, 2017Barbara Jean Hill was born on March 1st, 1927, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and from that day forward she was always known as "Bobbie", rarely answering to her formal name. Her father, Jesse Frank Hill, was an enterprising traveling salesman, her mother Dorothy Dinsmore Hill was a homemaker and she had one brother, Roger, seven years older filled with talent, charm, and mischief. She adored him all of her life. When Bobbie was three years old, the Depression struck and the family moved to Allen, Nebraska, living with relatives. They attempted to eke out a living through various endeavors, including a dry cleaning business, a farm goods station that collected food products from local farmers, piano lessons, dancing lessons; the whole family was involved. In 1938, when Bobbie turned eleven, the family moved to Lincoln, where she entered the seventh grade at Irving Junior High School. After Irving, she went to Lincoln High School, where she graduated in 1944 at the age of seventeen. After graduation in June of 1945, she went on a picnic with friends and met D.F. "Bud" Wilson, who she married five months later. He was a Lincoln boy and after their marriage, he headed to Japan for two years as part of the Army of Occupation. They had three children, Vicki Lynn born September 22nd, 1948, Michael Lee born September 7th, 1950, and Wendy Lu born March 20th, 1952.Both Bobbie and Bud worked at Western Electric in Lincoln, Nebraska and in 1963 moved to Millard, Nebraska to be close to the new Western Electric plant. On April 28th, 1978, after 33 years of marriage, Bud Wilson died at the age of 52 from a massive heart attack, devastating all who knew him, especially Bobbie, the love of his life and she his.Raymond "Bud" Geiger, who was a dear friend and a widower and a part of the very complicated Wilson-Geiger family, and Bobbie started going places together and married in May, 1985; further complicating the family tree. They remained married until Bud's death in June of 2000. She had wonderful marriages with both of her "Buds". Bobbie retired from Western Electric in 1986.Bobbie was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church from its inception in the early 1960s until her death. She loved the church, served on many committees, was an Elder, and sang in the choir. The result of the marriages with her two "Buds", Bud Wilson and Bud Geiger, were six children, Vicki Wilson (Tederman, Mike), Michael Wilson (Trisha), Wendy Wilson (Geiger, Ronald), Ronald Geiger (Wendy), Rita Geiger (Tederman, Mike), Judy Geiger (Hartong, Mike). These unions blessed Bobbie with eight grandchildren, Kelli Buchanan (Shawn), Robert Neuhaus (Stephanie), Hallie Talley (Jason), Surya Metzler (Melissa), Priya Hebel (Jon), Matthew Geiger (Meredith), Laura Geiger, and Samantha Hartong.Blessings continued for Bobbie with fourteen grandchildren, McKenzie Buchanan, Kamryn Buchanan, Madeline Neuhaus, Olivia Neuhaus, Isabella Neuhaus, Sofia Metzler, Savannah Metzler, Leela Hebel, Vayu Hebel, Amira Geiger, Elijah Geiger, Nevaya Geiger, Harper Geiger, and Sydney Geiger.Bobbie was loved by her family and friends and everyone who knew her. Her love was unconditional. All of us left behind will strive to live as she did, spreading joy and love wherever we can.
