Bernard Alvin Hill was born to the proud parents of Bernard Lee Hill and Willa Mae Crawford-Hill on December 20, 1950 in Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his father Bernard Hill and mother Willa Mae Hill.He attended Kellom Elementary School, Druid Hill Elementary School, and Horace Mann Junior High. He then graduated from North High School in the year of 1968.He proudly served his country in the United States Army, June of 1968 until he was honorably discharged in September 1971. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Maurice Watson, he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was baptized and remained a faithful member under the new shepherd Rev. Dr. Selwyn Q. Bachus. He joined the Salem's Transportation Ministry, and the Boy Scouts Ministry. Bernard had a strong work ethic, he began working for Omaha Bedding Company, Tibbs Construction Company, and Douglas County Hospital then was renamed Douglas County Health Center where he worked in the Environmental Service Department until he was promoted into his trade in the Painters Department where he retired after 22 years of service. He had many talents, entertainer, counselor, philosopher, historian, and all-around Jack of all trades. He enjoyed life to the fullest, always could make you engage in laughter. In August of 1989, he met his true love, faithful and devoted wife of 31 years, Kim Watkins-Hill and during this union was born a son, Brandon Hill and blended his family with a stepson, Brian Watkins. Bernard was a man who tenderly guided his family joyfully with great love and celebrated his blessings and always believed Jesus was the heart of his joy.He leaves to cherish his memories; wife, Kim Watkins-Hill; his children: daughter Plusure Hill of Atlanta, GA; sons, Bernard Hill III (Marvina) of San Diego, CA; Brian Watkins and Brandon Hill of Omaha, NE; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
