Barbara Jean (Dailey) Bush, also known as "Bobbie" to family and friends, age 64, of Omaha, Nebraska was called home to be one of God's Angels on December 24, 2015.She was born in Burnt Corn, Alabama on September 18, 1951, as the seventh child of Aurora (Harris) and Sidney Leroy Dailey.Barbara gave herself to Christ at the age of five; and was baptized by Rev. John H. Whittington of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. She was an active member of Mt. Nebo, serving on the Mission Board, as an usher and as a member of the choir.Barbara graduated from Central High School and went to attend University of Nebraska at Omaha. Barbara was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company/Quest from 1969 until her retirement in July of 2001. She was highly respected by her fellow workers. Her career started as a telephone operator and later as a sales representative.Barbara was united in marriage to Preston L. Bush on August 18, 1973.Barbara was a loving mother and wife. She loved spending time with her husband, son and grandchildren, family and friends. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking, bowling, travel and of course shopping. Barbara made a valiant attempt at becoming a good "Southern-style" cook but she kept trying with the help of her sister Minnie. Many will remember her for her generous spirit, gentle words and her desire for peace.Barbara is survived by her husband of 42 years, Preston; son Damion (Tracy); six grandchildren, Nicole, Tanashia, Riley, Troy, Robert and Damion. She leaves seven siblings; Frank, Roy (Ada), Thomas (Brenda), Robert, James and Ann (Alonzo); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, paternal grandparents, Lewis and Minnie Dailey; maternal grandparents, Louis and Reatha Harris, and one niece Barbara.Although flowers are beautiful and are truly appreciated, Barbara requests donations be made in her name to the Lupus Foundation of America and Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.
