Chandler, son of Reverend John Coates and Thelma Chandler, was born on May 2, 1948 in Washington D.C. He passed away on February 4, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Antonio, John Jr., and Eugene Coates, Karrenton, Jerryl Sr. and Gregory Chandler; sisters Norma Toomer, Yvonne, Shirley, Sylvia and Fannie Coates. He is survived and will be missed by his daughter, Maggie Chandler; sons Larry Jr. and John Chandler(Sarah), grandsons, Isaiah, Michael, Gabriel, Elijah Chandler and Victor Sherman; granddaughters, Erykah Sherman and Kataleya Chandler; brothers, Roland (Pearl) and Barrington Chandler(Portia); sisters, Gloria Taylor, Patricia Gardner (Melvin Sr.), Carolyn Gerald, Evelyn Smith (Thomas), Laverne Gaynor(Simon), Gwendolyn and Catherine Coates; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, February 15, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Viewing/visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Monday, February 15. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery to immediately follow services. Masks will be required for all services.Services for Larry will be livestreamed for those unable to attend. A link will be provided (above) on Monday, February 15 at approximately 11:30 A.M.
