She was born to Solomon Dharam Singh and Malti Elizabeth , on June 13, 1947 in New Delhi, India. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Vijay Chauhan. Kathy was married to Shamim ( "Sam") Firoz on April 9, 1967. From that union were born three daughters and a son, Dolly Patt, Molly Kaisershot, Shafi Firoz and Amita Luke. She also has eight grandchildren Yanick, Julian, Katharyna and Lilo Patt( parents Lucas and Dolly Patt); Noah ( parent Molly Kaisershot) ; Sebastian ( parent Shafi Firoz) and Elizabeth and Eden ( parents Paul and Amita Luke). Kathy and her then husband immigrated to the United States from India when she was 30. Prior to that she taught extensively in India attaining her teaching certificate with a background in science. While in India she laid the foundation of working with children and the gift of hospitality. Kathy and Sam lived in Lincoln, NE initially in the United States where she worked at Control Data for many years. Later they chose to open Brass Touch, a retail store in Omaha, NE. She then went on to open Indian Grocery and Video in the late 1980's and fulfilled her dream by opening the Bombay Caf in the year 2000. Kathy shared her love of food, gardening and children by serving those around her. She ministered to many through her church at Keystone Bible Chapel and the local Omaha Indian community where she was dearly loved. Kathy enjoyed studying about her Lord and Savior with her Bible study fellowship friends. She will be dearly missed by both friends and family who look forward to being reunited together some day in heaven with her.
