Patsy Marsh Bracy Obituary

Patsy Marsh Bracy, 72, wife of James Bracy Jr., passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family in the Plantersville Community of Georgetown, S.C.

Mrs. Bracy was born on February 4, 1951, in Georgetown, S.C., to the late Edward Mole Marsh and the late Charlotte Haselden Marsh. She was a kind and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Patsy was a homemaker who found much enjoyment cooking for her family and friends and was known especially for her homemade lemon cakes and cooking everyone’s favorite, fried chicken. She enjoyed working in her yards, planting flowers, and watching them bloom. Christmas and Halloween were her favorite holidays, and her home was always decorated for everyone’s enjoyment. In addition, she loved line dancing, and working crossword puzzles. She was an artist as well and loved to sketch and paint. Most importantly, she loved spending time reading and studying the Bible. Her greatest pleasure and blessings were her children and grandchildren and the time spent with them.

Surviving is her husband of 52 years, James M. Bracy, Jr.; son, James “Eddie” Bracy (Gloria); daughter, Patricia “Patty” Smith; grandchildren, E.J. Bracy, Travis Bracy, Abby Johnson (Tyler), Rhett Smith, and Lisa Cooper; great grandchildren, Raelynn Bracy, Everly Bracy, Emily Downard, Jade Cooper; sisters, Billie Ann Mayfield, Dorothy McIntyre (Ron) and Lee Plautz; brother, Don Marsh; special nieces and nephew, Karen, Erin, Lisa, and Chris; and sister-in-law, Nellie Olin.

Mrs. Bracy was predeceased in death by her parents; brothers, Gene Marsh and Charles Marsh; sister, Margie Dayle Marsh; and grandson, E.J. Bracy.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to English Cribb, Furman and Ann Long, and Jamie and Marilyn West.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Georgetown Church of Christ, 1786 N. Fraser Street, Georgetown, S.C. 29440. Officiating will be Minister Dan Hager. Family will receive friends after the service.
