John R. Ballay

John R. Ballay, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Late of Romeoville, formerly of Oak Lawn. John was the beloved husband of nearly 50 years to Marjorie (nee Bulanda) Ballay; loving father of Amanda (Robert) Chaffin and Matthew Ballay; devoted grandfather to John (Emily), Nikolas (Lindsey), Matthew (Ellie), Gina and Cheyanne; father in law to Brandy Ballay; cherished great-grandfather to Aaron and Allison; caring uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; treasured great-uncle to Carlie, Raymond, Liliana, Isabella, Justin and Joshua; fond brother to the late Jack (the late Lucille) and the late Charles (the late Elaine) McGuire, James (the late Barbara) and Thomas (the late Lenore) Meek; dear brother-in-law to Joseph, Mary Ann, Thomas (the late Mary Elizabeth), Bernadette, and Nancy (Paul); and precious son to the late John and Clara (nee Mezydlo) Ballay and friend to many.  Visitation to be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 8:30 am-11:00 am at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W Renwick Rd, Plainfield, IL 60544. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Lockport, IL at 11:30am.
