<p>Robert “Bob” Allen Kuhnhenn, 81, Towner, died at his home on March 12, 2023. He was born in Rugby on September 27, 1941 to Donald Raymond and Mabel (Lueck) Kuhnhenn . He grew up in the Denbigh area and graduated from Towner High School in 1959. He entered the US Army in 1964 and served in Viet Nam. He was decorated with the CIB and other citations. Robert was discharged in 1966. He worked at the McHenry County Soil Conservation District, the Thompson-Christenson Ranch, Leonard Johnson Construction and as a carpenter building houses in the Towner area for the Hutton Company. He also worked for Walter Otto Construction Company and Todd Lashman Ranch. He retired and continued to live in Towner. He was a member of the Vernon T. Starks VFW Post # 7067 in Towner, the America Legion Post in Granville, and the Zion Lutheran Church – Towner.</p><p>Bob is survived by two sisters, Darla Thompson and Elizabeth “Betty” (Loyde) Krout – both of Towner, nieces and nephews, Donald Krout, Colleen (Craig) George, Jeff Krout, Lori (Don) Ganje, and Russell (Karla) Thompson, great nieces and nephews, Seth, Heather, Bethany, Blaine, Hadley, Harleigh, and Ryder, and great-great nieces and nephews, Dylan, Beckett, Ava, Annie, Bristol, Britt, and Coulee, and many cousins and friends.</p><p>He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Thomas “Bud” Thompson.</p><p>Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Towner on Friday, March 24 at 2:00pm.</p><p>He will be buried with military honors at Union Cemetery in Towner in the spring.</p><p>Memorials would be welcomed to Zion Lutheran Church - Towner</p><p><br></p><p>Niewoehner Funeral Home - Rugby</p><p>www.niewoehnerfh.com</p>
