<p>Funeral services for Jimmy Robert McCain, age 77, of Woodland, will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Dr. Mike Robinson and Rev. Danny Wadell officiating.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, March 12.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. McCain passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Tanner Hospital in Carrollton, Georgia.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his wife, Elaine McCain; daughter, Shasta Jarrett (Chris); grandchildren, Jake Crowson and Owen Jarrett; a sister, Jean Chambers (Sanford); a sister-in-law, Anita McCain; and a brother-in-law, Danny Williamson.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Brian Blazer, Michael Stewart, Daryl Hardin, Vinson Garrett, Josh Smith, and Dwayne Satterwhite. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Robinson, Tommy Camp, and Ned Wright.</p><p><br></p><p>A Randolph County native, Mr. McCain was born on October 6, 1945, the son of Fred McCain and Nina Simpson McCain. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had a long career in Education. He was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel School, received his Bachelor and Masters Degrees at Jacksonville State University, served as a board member on the Randolph County Board of Education, was a counselor and teacher at Randolph County High School, coached at Wadley High School, taught Psychology at Southern Union, was a member of Masonic Lodge #93, and worked as a Psychometrists until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Williamson; and brother, Ricky McCain.</p><p><br></p><p>Flowers will be accepted. However, it was Jimmy’s preference to have contributions made to the Jimmy McCain Memorial Scholarship Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at www.benefieldfhwedowee.com.</p>

My sincere condolences to Elaine and the family. I have fond memories of being a classmate in the 10th, eleventh, and twelfth grades. We had a lot of fun times, and I’ll always remember being a fellow band mate in the FFA string band.
