<p>Richard W. Smith, 61, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at home. He was born August 16, 1961 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Lyle and Irma Smith. He was a maintenance repair tech till his early retirement, due to health reasons. </p><p>He also served in the United States Air Force for 6 years, in New York and the Philippines. He enjoyed spending time with family the most, especially his children and Jensen/Smith Families. </p><p>Richard was preceded in death by his father, Lyle, and grandparents. His mother, Irma Copeland, passed just days after Richard. He married in 2004 to Jessica Isom. </p><p>Survivors include, his wife, Jessica Smith; son, Josh; daughter, Jennifer Schmidt (Mike); son, Ricky Smith; two granddaughters; sister, Beverly Moore; nieces, Carrie and Ciarra; and nephew Dillon. Also a step-sister, Cindy Copeland; step-brother, Fred Copeland; cousins, Sharon, Kathy, Patti, Reece; and many more family and friends. </p><p>Cremation was chosen and a private graveside memorial, with his mother, Irma, will be held at Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln, Kansas. March 15th, there will be a light luncheon at noon, at the VFW in Lincoln, provided by the Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary for friends And family. </p><p>In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made in care of Jessica Smith, notate "Josh Smith Education Fund", in the memo, at First Bank Kansas, 235 S Santa Fe Ave, Salina, Kansas 67401 or Ryan's Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, Kansas 67401. </p><p> </p>Obituary
