Barbara Ann McNally

Barbara Ann McNally (nee Walling), 66, Neptune City.  Barbara passed away on March 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.   Born and raised in Jersey City, Barbara was proud of her JC roots and Irish heritage and especially proud of her children.  She graduated from St. Aloysius H.S. and Jersey City State College before beginning a long teaching career in her beloved St. Aloysius Grammar School and Jersey City Public Schools.  Always the teacher, Barbara took a “supervisory” role in the education of her grandchildren and was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. She was an avid fan of the Mets and of all activities in which her children and later her grandchildren were involved.  Some of her greatest joys were sharing holidays and birthdays with family and friends of which she had many and watching her grandchildren at the Avon beach. 

Barbara is predeceased by her parents, James and Dorothy Walling.   She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 45 years, Michael McNally and children, Sean McNally (Renee), Kerri McNally and Erin Sidie (Matthew).   She leaves behind six grandchildren who brought her the greatest joy in life- Colin, Rory, J.T., Ryan, Maddie and GiGi.  Also surviving are four siblings and their spouses: Joan Casserly (Michael), David Walling (Ellen), Maureen Harrison (Rick) and Patricia McGrorry (Billy) and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home 2028 Rt. 35 in Wall Twp. on March 15 from 4-8pm.    A Mass of Christian burial will be on March 16 at 11am at St. Aloysius R.C. Church in Jersey City. For more information or to send condolences please visit www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
