Quincy Hughes Obituary

Quincy San Juan Hughes was born on May 7, 1974 in Joliet Illinois.  He was the son of Charlene Johnson and the late Lavernis Hughes.  He departed this life on Saturday, March 11, 2023 after a long illness.

Quincy was a graduate of Lockport Central High School Class of 1992.  He enjoyed playing baseball; he was known as the power hitter.  He also played baseball for the Belmont League and Ingalls Park League.  Quincy had a love for cooking outside on the grill and outside yard work.

Quincy confessed Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.W. Walton and Pastor Richard D. House.

Quincy worked at Trinity Services in the environmental services department.

Quincy was preceded in death by his father, Lavernis Hughes; brother, Deshawn Wilder and stepbrother, Bradley Johnson; maternal grandparents, Nelson and Frances Mae Holman; paternal grandparents, Eugene Hughes and Hattie Hughes-Drane; special aunt and uncle, Otha and Ernestine Johnson; step grandparents, Sam and Dolly Myers.

He is survived by his parents, Charlene (Louis) Johnson Sr. of Joliet, IL; brothers, Lavernis A. Hughes of Joliet, IL and DeAndre Wilder; stepsisters, Twanette (Larry) Johnson and Atanya Miller; stepbrother, Louis Johnson Jr.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
