Obituary

Frank was born on November 15, 1944 to loving parents, Beatrice and Frank. Spending

his childhood enjoying the coastal Maine summer, in York. When Frank entered adulthood, he

served his country in the US Navy from 1964-1968. When he was honorably discharged, he met

his wife Lynne. They spent the next forty-five years before her passing, raising their children. In

his later years he found a love for the casino, often giving them more money than they liked to

return with his brother-in-law Paul. Along with enjoying the simple things, such as a dinner in

and evening dance with his life partner Sandra.

Frank will be most remembered for his fast wit and mesmerizing stories. Even at the end as he

fought a courageous battle with cancer, he never wavered. He would do anything to lighten the

air and share a laugh with anyone who was lucky enough to be in his presence. Perhaps his most

notable story came from his time as an airport chauffeur later in life. Having the opportunity to

pick up John Travolta, a time or two! Frank enjoyed most outdoor activities and was known for

his Facebook Marketplace ads that were nothing but confusing and comments that all ended with

“Love Dad or Love Puppa”. He left behind his cherished cat Finnegan, that was known for

terrorizing all the children, who has now taken up residency in Florida with his daughter

Brianna. Though nothing could ever compare to the happiness he would exude when seeing and

speaking of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Watching them grow and succeed, was an

undeniable sense of accomplishment for him.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Beatrice and Frank Brethren, sister Lorraine Pinkham,

wife Lynne Allen, daughter Melinda Allen and grandson Jamie Allen.

Frank is survived by his two sisters, Alice Adams and Gloria Barnes. His daughters Ivy

Younkman, Karena Field, Samantha Brewer and husband Mark, and Brianna Allen. His son,

Michael Kopka; his grandchildren Lizzi, Frank, Maggie, Savana, Dakota, Alexis and wife Jenna, Jacob

and wife Courtney, Chandler, Kadan, Mikayla, Madyson, Spencer, Braxton, Nikita, Kya and

Garrett; along with his nine great grandchildren and nephew Mike.

A celebration of life will be held April 1st from 3pm-6pm at The American Legion in Bath.
